Our purpose

The energy sector faces significant inefficiencies from fragmented data, duplicated efforts, and lack of standardisation. The potential for improvement is substantial.

We exist to unlock that potential. By delivering and managing services for digital collaboration across players and systems in the energy industry, we help operators and suppliers work smarter together—reducing costs, improving data quality, and accelerating collaboration across the entire value chain.

CoOper8 is owned by 8 operators on the Norwegian Continental Shelf: Equinor, Aker BP, Vår Energi, A/S Norske Shell, Harbour Energy, OMV, DNO and OKEA. We are established as a “by the industry, for the industry” company. This ownership model ensures that our priorities are driven by real operational needs, long‑term value creation, and shared industry interests .

Our History

CoOper8 represents 15 years of industry collaboration in the making. What began in 2010 with early services and just three active operators has evolved into a comprehensive platform and set of services serving the entire Norwegian Continental Shelf.

Key milestones include the development of standardisation priorities through EPIM, the launch of critical services such as Virtual Inventory and Schedule Exchange (previously ILAP), and the onboarding of all major operators to EqHub. Today, we continue scaling and modernising our services to meet the evolving needs of the energy industry.
